June 2023 Meeting
Our June meeting clashed with UK Games Expo, which some of our members attended, so our numbers were down a little. On the positive side, we look forward to seeing exciting new games next month, when people bring their new purchases to try out.
Regular favourite Dune was played again, but not before a lengthy game of Ark Nova - a card based game in which players compete to design, build and stock the most successful modern scientifically managed zoo.
Isle of Cats is enjoying renewed popularity. There's something very appealing about Tetris with weird cats - on boats.
New to the club, and to me, was Illiterati - kindly brought along for the benefit of those of us who enjoy playing with words. It's a highly co-operative word game that's about meanings as well as just spelling.
In Castles of Mad King Ludwig, players compete to purchase various rooms and add them to their individual castle layout, to gain points and fulfill goals. Somehow, this rarely results in a building that is appealing, or would pass building regs.
Innovation (and maybe more) was also played, but not photographed.
Our next meeting is on Saturday 8 July. See you there!
