October 2022 meeting

A raft of new games this month

October 2022 meeting

Another month, another meeting. There were quite a few new games at this session, even though I only played one of them!

I started off with a quick game of Raj while people were filtering in. It came with its usual highlights of wild good and bad luck mingled among the double-think. We then had enough people to play a game of Sonar. Meanwhile, some others played Brew and Die of the Dead.

Sonar was interesting, a two-team game of hidden movement and Battleships. Because there's a lot of elements to the game, we stayed with the turn-by-turn version of the game rather than the real-time variant. I think it would be a lot more chaotic fun for real-time, once people had a better idea of what was happening and how the parts fitted together.

That took us to about lunchtime. There were a few shorter games (Sushi Go and Nova Luna), then people dived into Roll for the Galaxy and Ticket to Ride.

The day rounded off with another game of Sonar, a short game of Quacks of Quedlinburg, and then the now-traditional game of Terraforming Mars.

Next meeting

Our next meeting is on 5 November. Note that it's not our usual second-Saturday slot, to accommodate a Christmas fair in the hall. All future dates are on our Calendar, and please sign up to the next event on Meetup.
