Our November meeting was a bit in the quiet side, but we still managed to get plenty of games in.
At the start of the day, one group settled in to a long game of Sycthe, while the rest of us decided to play some many-player games of Star Trek Chrono-Trek, Deep Sea Adventure, and 6 Nimmt.

Chrono-Trek is a reskinned version of Chrononauts, and it's a game that seems to rely on luck more than strategy, and this version is definitely for the fans! It's an intersting idea, but I think there were too many cards in the timeline to allow people to build a strategy. 6 Nimmt and Deep Sea Adventure are perennial favourites, good for a few groans and laughs.
Scythe was still going, so we decided to split into playing two versions of another club favourite, Die of the Dead. The expansions had just appeared, so one table played with the Xolo expansion (including the cute dog meeple) and the other played the Ofrenda variant. While we were finishing up, Scythe finished an managed to fit in a quick game of Port Royal.

The Xolo expansion adds a few features to the base game, including making the tokens easier to gain, and using the xolo dog to entice people into making certain actions. A fun addition, but nothing radical. The Ofrenda variant is essentially a whole new game that uses the same components. The players seem to have fun with it, but I've no first-hand experience of what it's like.
The afternoon settled down into three longer games: Taverns of Tiefenthal, Dune Imperium, and Terraforming Mars. There's not much to say about those: they're all solid and meaty games that people had a lot of fun playing.

Next meeting
Our next meeting is on 9 December, and it's our Christmas extravaganza! There will be the traditional Pitchcar tournament, with prizes. There will be plenty of other games along as well.
You can see the report of last year's event. Please check our calendar and our meetup page for the event. Hope to see you there!
