December 2023 meeting
Plenty of people at our December session!

December saw a large turnout with a lot of games played. As is traditional on these meetings, most of the games were at the lighter end, with laughs and moans all round. (That also meant I didn't get photos of all the games played.)
The highlight of the day was our annual Pitchcar tournament, which saw about 30 people flicking small disks along the track (and across the room!) for the chance to win prizes from our collection of donated games. The game was played throughout the day, in heats of four to six people.

Whil that was going on, two longer games (Dune Imperium and Shikoku 1889, an 18xx game) got started and the rest of us started up all manner of smaller games, including 6 Nimmt, Taverns of Tiefenthal, Castles of Mad King Ludwig, and a few others.

Later on saw Oceans, Bohnanza, Star Trek Chrono-Trek, Innovation, and several games of Crokinole. Meanwhile, Dune Imperium had morphed into Power Grid and Shikoku was still going.

After lunch, we played a combination of Scout, Seven Wonders, Connections/Ingenious, and Tiny Epic Galaxies. Power Grid and Shikoku were still going when I had leave a bit early. I wonder if they finished?

Changes
Penny, our organiser, announced that she'll be stepping back from a lot of the organisation work for the club, so is asking for volunteers who can take some of the load. If you're interested in helping, please drop a line to hello@lbboardgames.org.uk and let us know!
Next meetings
Our first meeting of 2024 is on 13 January. See the calendar and the Meetup group for further meetings. Have a good holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in the new year!
